My art is not created to please your eyes; it is created to awaken the deepest emotions within you.
Ward Schepman (1978, Meerkerk, The Netherlands) is a music-driven abstract expressionist and a late bloomer in the visual arts. Raised in an artistic family and long active as a creative entrepreneur, he spent years searching for his true form of expression.
That search crystallized when Ward and his family hosted a Ukrainian family for a year. While painting and listening to a Ukrainian song on repeat, he allowed his emotions to flow freely onto the canvas. That moment became his artistic revelation.
In 2021, he committed fully to his artistic practice, choosing abstract expressionism guided by music, emotion, and human connection. His work explores loss, unity, and the power of shared humanity.
