Welcome to Wards World
Music Driven Performance Artist
My art is not created to please your eyes; it is created to awaken the deepest emotions within you.
Ward Schepman.
Ward Schepman (1978, Meerkerk) is a music-driven abstract expressionist and a late bloomer in the visual arts. Raised in an artistic family and long active as a creative entrepreneur, he spent years searching for his true form of expression.
That search crystallized when Ward and his family hosted a Ukrainian family for a year. While painting and listening to a Ukrainian song on repeat, he allowed his emotions to flow freely onto the canvas. That moment became his artistic revelation.
In 2022, he committed fully to his practice, choosing abstract expressionism guided by music, emotion, and human connection. His work explores loss, unity, and the power of shared humanity.
The Proces
My paintings begin with listening. I immerse myself in the culture and emotional landscape of a place, then choose a piece of music connected to it and let it play on repeat while I paint. Rhythm becomes movement, sound becomes color.
I work with natural materials whenever possible. Earth-based pigments and organic elements create a direct, physical connection between the artwork and its origin. I am proudly sponsored by Natural Earth Paint, whose fully natural pigments align with my belief in working with integrity, sustainability, and respect for the earth.
This process forms the heart of United World in Diversity an ongoing project in which I create one artwork for each of the world’s 196 countries. Each piece is a tribute to cultural identity, human connection, and the beauty of our differences. A world becoming one through art.
My mission
My mission is to translate music into visual energy and create artworks that capture the emotion and movement of sound. Through live performances and studio sessions, I aim to turn musical moments into one of a kind paintings that allow people to see and feel music in a new way.
Artist Statement
Ward Schepman creates art where music, movement, and natural material meet. His paintings are driven entirely by sound—sometimes created live on stage, sometimes in the quiet intensity of his studio, always guided by rhythm and emotion.
Working with natural, earth-based pigments, he translates music into texture, color, and movement in real time. Supported by Natural Earth Paint, his work honors sustainability, authenticity, and connection.
Each artwork is created in a single, unrepeatable moment. Not a memory of music, but a continuation of sound—made visible.
Values
Expression
I honor raw, unfiltered emotion and allow music to guide every movement and decision in an organic, intuitive way.
Authenticity
Each painting is created in a single, uninterrupted performance, capturing a real moment shaped naturally by sound.
Connection
My work seeks to bring people together by transforming music into an organic visual experience that can be felt, not just seen.
Creativity
I embrace experimentation, bold textures, and organic freedom in responding to any genre or rhythm.
Presence
I work fully in the moment, allowing the organic energy of the music, the space, and the audience to shape the artwork.
Uniqueness
No artwork is ever repeated. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind, organic translation of an unrepeatable musical moment.
Exhibition Goals

Future Exhibitions
Ward aims to host exhibitions around the world, showcasing his unique Abstract Intuitive Art.
